A Call to Courage: Standing Firm in Faith

Today is a very heavy day for many reasons. I haven’t written on this platform for a while as I have been concentrating on writing my book. Still, I need to process what is on my heart and my way of doing that is through writing.

Yesterday was a heavy day in our country as we observed the assassination of a very outspoken and courageous man. I never knew him but I have watched some of his debates and conversations about life. He boldly professed his faith, his stance on biblical marriage and his voice for the unborn.

Not everyone agrees with what he had to say. Still, the senseless act to silence him absolutely broke my heart. I spent my day in shock yesterday but today I mourn.

I spent the morning in prayer. Like I do every day, but today was different. I sat in silence in the presence of God. I just wept for his family. I prayed that they will all tangibly feel the presence of the peace of Jesus during this season of loss.

I truly believe what the enemy meant for evil, God will use for good. Charlie may have been taken out of the physical world but he is sitting at the feet of Jesus in the Heavenly realm. His death is not in vain. It’s just the beginning of a movement, an awakening of those who want to live as God has called us.

I too have a passion for being the voice for the unborn and walking along side mamas (and dads too) as they navigate unplanned pregnancies. Yesterday’s loss has ignited a new fire in me to be courageous and live a life that honors God 100%. I will not shrink down in my faith or my calling because a friend or family member might “unfriend” me or think less of me. We are called to love and share Jesus with those around us, every day, in every area of our life. And with that love comes speaking truth.

I am a sinner. I am in no way perfect. I have messed up more times than I can count.

However,

I am a believer. I am unashamed. I am unafraid.

I encourage you to live courageously and love deeply.
